The Influence Of Information Systems on Strategic Decision-Making In IT Network Companies

Abstract—Digital transformation has significantly reshaped how organizations make strategic decisions, particularly in information technology (IT) network companies. This study investigates the influence of information systems on strategic decision-making effectiveness by integrating DeLone and McLean’s Information Systems Success Model with the Resource-Based View (RBV). Using a mixed-method approach, data were collected from 50 IT network companies in Indonesia through structured surveys and in-depth interviews with key decision-makers. Quantitative analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), while qualitative insights were extracted via thematic analysis. The results reveal that system quality, information quality, and service quality significantly influence both user satisfaction and system usage, which subsequently enhance strategic IS capabilities. These capabilities were found to positively impact decision-making effectiveness, operational excellence, and competitive advantage. Moreover, decision-making effectiveness and operational excellence also mediate the relationship between IS capabilities and competitive advantage. The findings contribute to both theory and practice by offering an integrated framework for understanding how IS capabilities drive competitive performance in dynamic IT environments.
