Journal subscription costs - FOIs to UK universities

This dataset contains the amount of money paid by UK higher education institutions to seven major publishers (Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, Taylor &amp; Francis, Sage, Oxford University Press, and Cambridge University Press) for academic journals from 2010-14. The data was obtained by sending FOI requests to each institution through the website whatdotheyknow.com These are seven of the largest academic publishers but do not represent the total spend of these institutions on academic journals. <strong>UPDATE 08/10/2014</strong>: Added figures for City University London, Leeds Metropolitan University, Northumbria University, Queen Margaret University, University of Reading, Robert Gordon University, Royal Holloway, Sheffield Hallam University, St George's, Teesside University, University of the Highlands and Islands, University of Westminster, and University of Worcester. <strong>UPDATE 22/10/2014</strong>: Added figures for subscriptions to Elsevier journals. Also includes additional figures for other publishers for University of Brighton, Goldsmiths, London South Bank University, Nottingham Trent University, Oxford Brookes University, Plymouth University, Queen Mary University of London, Ravensbourne, Royal College of Art, University of Salford, SOAS, Teesside University, University of the Arts, University of the West of Scotland, University of West London, and York St John Unviersity.
