Hang-Time HAR is the first publicly available sensor-based basketball activity dataset. It was collected by 24 players from the United States and Germany, who wore wrist-worn inertial sensors during both training sessions and official games. The dataset covers 10 categories of basketball activities, including core motions such as dribbling, shooting, and passing. Recorded across two different countries, it reflects the influence of cultural disparities on basketball game rules and playing styles, while also accounting for the heterogeneity in the basketball experience levels of the participating players. Furthermore, the dataset contains three distinct types of sessions: warm-up, training, and competition, providing data from both controlled and uncontrolled environments. This makes it suitable for evaluating and developing application systems for game analysis, training guidance, and individual physical activity tracking.
