Minto Inlet 2019 Passive Acoustic Monitoring Data

Passive acoustic monitoring data were collected in Minto Inlet, Northwest Territories from February to September 2019 at a single stationary oceanographic mooring. The goal of this monitoring was to study marine animal presence based on the presence of their vocalizations, as well as underwater sound levels, including underwater noise from anthropogenic activities. This site is important for the people of Ulukhaktok for subsistence activities, therefore monitoring species presence and threats to these species is important for conservation of this site. From our passive acoustic data, we measured sound pressure levels and two metrics of marine animal vocalizations, and these are provided to accompany a recent journal article (Halliday et al. in press, Arctic), which describes the underwater soundscape in Minto Inlet.
