Malting Performance Barley Laperouse Aug 2025

AEGIC MultiMalter is an advanced micromalting tool which can malt barley or other grains with up to six different malting protocols, while commercially available micromalters malt grains with only one protocol. It makes it possible to determine malting performance of new barley samples in a relatively short time, compared to commercial micromalters. We have used the MultiMalter to investigate the malting performance of the new barley Laperouse. Our results show that this barley sample produced excellent malts with relatively high malt extract, low beta-glucan and high FAN when the sample was malted by using optimal malting regimes.
