IAS2025

The IAS2025 dataset provides the altimetry-based virtual stations from multiple altimetry missions including Jason, Sentinel-6 MF, ERS-2 and Envisat. Compared to the IAS2024, several modifications have been made. First, the 20-Hz nominal ground track segments within 100 km to the coast are created using the spherical interpolation method, which contributes to the larger number of virtual stations near the coast. Second, the FES2022 geocentric ocean tide and 2023 Hybrid MSS model are used to improve the data quality near the coast. Third, the virtual stations from ERS-2 and Envisat missions over the time period of May 1995 and October 2010 are provided, but their quality are inferior to those from Jason and Sentinel-6 MF missions. The virtual stations cannot only used to monitoring the sea level rise along the world's coastlines, but also can be used to calculate vertical land motion (VLM) rates at nearby tide gauges.
