Zooplankton and Phytoplankton Monitoring Data in the North and Baltic Seas - biomass

The dataset contains information on the abundance (nr/m3) and biomass (ug/m3) of zooplankton and phytoplankton collected by the Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research Warnemuende - IOW and the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency - BSH between 2008 and 2011. As part of the bi-monthly monitoring, samples were taken for species identification, counting and biomass determination of zooplankton and phytoplankton in the North Sea and Baltic Sea. A WP2 net was used for the zooplankton sampling and a Water Automatic Sampling - WAS - for the phytoplankton sampling. The raw data were processed and standardized.
