mDNAV is a dsDNA virus infecting marine fungoid protist Sicyoidochytrium minutum (Thraustochytriaceae). Thraustochytrids are recognized as the important decomposer in coastal environments and expected to be used industrially due to their high accumulation capability of PUFAs. Therefore, elucidating the molecular biological mechanisms of viral replication and its host reaction will bring valuable knowledge. Here we report the genome draft genome sequence of SmDNAV strain Nm-Ss.
