Leading causes of death in Cuba 2022

In 2022, nearly 33,000 people died as a result of heart diseases in Cuba, making it the leading cause of death in the country. Meanwhile, more than 25,000 people lost their lives due to cancer, while around 11,380 individuals died from cerebrovascular diseases. In 2020, the type of cancer with the highest death rate in Latin America was prostate cancer.
