The article examines the communication similarity between the guide book and the natural history museum in the Victorian period. The argument is that the communication style of both knowledge institutions is not just a presentation but also an interpretation of the foreign. This argument is related to the Swedish botanist Carl Linné and his taxonomic system as a method of the predictability of nature.
