Phenotypic raw data for In(3R)Payne Inversion

Our main goal was to examine whether the clinally varying In(3R)Payne inversion polymorphism affects three major survival traits in North American populations of D. melanogaster. We measured adult lifespan (in days), survival upon starvation (in hours), and survival upon cold shock (as the proportion survival ) for isochromosomal lines of D. melanogaster from Florida and Maine, which were either homokaryotypic for the In(3R)Payne inversion or for the uninverted (standard) chromosomal arrangement, at growth temperatures (18°C and 25°C). We also measured wing area (in mm2).
