GRSM BOUNDARY MARKERS

Boundary markers for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are placed to delineate the park’s boundaries and help manage land use. These markers often consist of physical signs, posts, and plaques placed at key locations along the park's perimeter. The purpose of the markers is to ensure that visitors and park rangers are aware of the park's boundaries and to protect the park's natural resources from encroachment by development or unauthorized activities.
