Perinatal hypoxia, MK-801, and hippocampal parvalbumin interneurons in male rats
收藏资源简介:
Data from a preclinical experiment on male rats investigating the effects of neonatal hypoxia (postnatal days 4–8) and postnatal NMDA receptor blockade (MK-801, 0.3 mg/kg, PD 105–114) on adult behavior (PD 115–119) and parvalbumin-positive interneuron (PVI) densities in a 2 × 2 factorial design (sham+sal, sham+MK-801, hypoxia+sal, hypoxia+MK-801; N = 103 animals). Pups were cross-fostered and reared by the same dam within a litter. Behavioral readouts include open field, Y-maze spontaneous alternation, prepulse inhibition of the startle response, and Morris water maze. PVI densities (cells/mm³) were quantified in dorsal hippocampus CA1, ventral hippocampus CA1, and prefrontal cortex. The dataset contains: (1) the main data table with behavioral results and PVI counts for all animals; (2) a codebook (metadata) describing all variables. See README.md for details. These data underlie the article: Perinatal hypoxia impairs spatial memory and modestly reduces dorsal CA1 parvalbumin-positive interneuron density in adult male rats, without inducing schizophrenia-relevant hyperactivity or prepulse inhibition deficits (Daniela Cernotova, Marketa Chvojkova, Kristyna Maleninska, Dominika Radostova, Lada Cejkova, Kristina Kekrtova, Lenka Kleteckova, Hana Brozka).
