(High-quality) public transport - Influence areas combined

The use of public transport is strongly determined by the quality of the pre- and post-transport. The area of influence of a bus stop indicates how far people are willing to walk to the stop. The area of influence is larger the faster public transport is, the higher the frequency and the longer the journey. For bus and tram lines, an area of influence with a radius of 400 to 500 metres is common, for metros 700 to 1000 metres. The Province of Zuid-Holland has established four categories in which the areas of influence are calculated: 1. National rail stops: 1200 meters. 2. Regional rail stops (local train or metro): 1200 meters. 3. Bus and tram stops category HOV: 800 meters. 4. Bus and tram stops category Non-HOV: 500 meters. This dataset combines the above categories, in which the overlapping areas cut each other out in the order of precedence above. -- The Zuid-Holland network of public transport areas of influence, connections and stops is made up of main (NS) rail connections, regional rail connections, metro systems, light rail connections and regional express bus connections. --
