The study uses RNA seq profiling of chitin responses in young leaves of Arabidopsis thaliana to investigate the effect of plamodesmal closure on the responses. We induced plasmodesmal closure using Lex:icals3m lines in young leaves and assayed for differentially expressed genes in response to chitin. The data reveals that when plasmodesmata are closed, the chitin response is bigger.
