The current study, the first to our knowledge, analyzes eyestalks transcriptomes of S. paramamosai in salinity 23 and salinity 5 conditions using RNA-seq technique. We attempt to identify key biological pathways and genes involved in osmoregulation. This study also provides a basis for further study on the mechanism of low-salinity adaptation of S. paramamosai. Our study, as a whole, provides new insights into neuroendocrine-osmoregulatory and may prove instructive to the breeding of new varieties resistant to low-salinity.
