Nitrogen (N) forms, including inorganic and organic N, play a critical role in regulating plant root growth and nitrogen uptake. However, how the nitrogen forms impact the root morphology and nitrogen uptake of red pitaya (Hylocereus polyrhizus) remains obscure. Shoot biomass, root morphology, nutrient uptake, and soil properties were assessed in red pitaya through hydroponic experiment and pot experiment with different nitrogen forms.
