The research monitors the digital distribution channels of televised electoral debates during the 2023 elections in Spain, analyzing uncivil comments from the broadcasting accounts on Twitter (X). The content analysis technique is applied to examine in a systematic, objective and quantitative way the social conversation generated around the electoral debates. The initial corpus of the study consisted of 3,407 comments (2,588 from the Atresmedia debate and 819 from RTVE). To ensure the social relevance of the sample, an interaction filter was applied, selecting only those messages with at least two interactions (comments, retweets, likes, or a combination thereof). From the filtered dataset, a simple random sampling was conducted with a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error, resulting in a final sample of N = 401 units of analysis (274 from the Atresmedia debate and 127 from the RTVE debate).
