资源简介:
This retrospective study examined the impact of HbA1C levels on postoperative outcomes in diabetic patients undergoing hernioplasty at a tertiary hospital in Saudi Arabia. Data from 140 patients were analyzed, comparing those with controlled (HbA1C <7%) and uncontrolled (HbA1C ≥7%) diabetes. The results showed no significant association between HbA1C levels and postoperative wound infections or hernia recurrence. However, hypertension was significantly more common in the uncontrolled HbA1C group. The study highlights the need for a broader assessment of surgical risk factors beyond HbA1C levels to improve surgical outcomes in diabetic patients.
