The transcriptional regulations of fish upon a lethal cold stress and during the following rewarming are not well known. The purpose of this study is to characterize the gene expression dynamics of zebrafish larvae exposed to lethal cold stress and subsequent rewarming. Our data defined the survival and death pathways determining the survival of fish from the cold-induced cellular or tissue damage. Modulating the activities of these pathways may enhance cold tolerance of the cold sensitive farmed fishes.
