Thyroid eye disease (TED) is the most common orbital disease leading to severe facial deformities and visual impairment, but its pathogenesis remains to be fully characterized. To address these issues, we conducted microRNA-seq to distinguish TED patients from non-TED healthy controls. Overall design: Total RNA was extracted from orbital connective tissues by using TRIzol. Then RNA was quantified with a NanoDrop 2000. RNA sequencing libraries were constructed with 1µg high-quality RNA of each sample according to the instructions of TruSeq Small RNA Library Preparation Kit (Illumina) for sequencing.
