This dataset provides the data of an experimental study to investigate the effect of grain size distribution, particle shape and surface roughness on landslide induced tsunami generation. Three types of material (granite chipping, river gravel and glass beads), four different grain sizes (d50 = 6 mm, 12 mm, 13 mm and 25 mm) and two slide masses (m_s = 5 kg and 10 kg) have been tested, resulting in 12 configurations of size, mass and material. Landslides were generated by releasing the material down a 30° slope into a flume filled with water. The dataset contains time series of water surface elevations and high-speed camera images tracking the slide movement.
