Historic Markers in Atlanta Region

This layer was developed by the Research & Analytics Division of the Atlanta Regional Commission using GPS for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA). In addition to collecting GPS points for the 490 historical markers in the 10-county Atlanta Region, ARC staff captured high resolution digital photographs for each marker. The original list of historical markers was obtained from DCA and then supplemented with markers identified by local sources. These features are part of a statewide plan to collect historical markers from all sixteen Georgia RDCs.
