Preterm born neonates often are admitted to sick neonatal care units due to infections, respiratory distress and asphyxia. Upon admission, nosocomial infections are common and antibiotic are included in the treatment regime. This project has been taken up to understand the nasal microbiome profiles of preterm neonates and contrast them with term born neonates and correlate their antimicrobial resistance patterns with antibiotics given.
