WRF simulated humid-heat stress under different irrigation scenarios

This dataset is intended to support the analyses and figures presented in the associated publication “Irrigation Impact on Humid Heat Stress: Divergent Metrics, Vegetation Dynamics, and Future Worsening” in Geophysical Research Letters. It contains post-processed Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model output used to investigate the impacts of irrigation and vegetation dynamics on humid-heat stress under historical and future climates. The dataset consists of 18 files (6 experiments * 3 products for each), following the naming convention: wrf_<CONFIG>_<PERIOD>_<PRODUCT>.nc <CONFIG> represent model configuration, including RFD: Dynamic rainfed vegetation simulated with the improved model, without irrigation. WAT: Dynamic irrigated vegetation simulated with the improved model, including irrigation. DEF: Static vegetation simulated with the default WRF configuration. It uses the prescribed irrigated-vegetation state derived from WAT but does not include irrigation. <PERIOD> represent climate scenarios, including HIST: Historical climate, covering 2005–2014. SSP5: Future climate under SSP5-8.5, covering 2090–2099. <PRODUCT> represent different NCP averaged data, including: dayJJA: Daily data for June–July–August, containing 2-m air temperature (T2), 2-m water-vapor mixing ratio (Q2), relative humidity (RH), wet-bulb temperature (TW), and simplified wet-bulb globe temperature (SWBGT or SW). Each file contains 920 daily time steps over the corresponding ten-year period. monmean: Monthly mean data containing irrigation water (IRR), T2, Q2, RH, TW, and SW. Each file contains 120 monthly time steps. timmean: Ten-year mean fields of the 95th percentile of daily maximum wet-bulb temperature (TWmax95) and simplified wet-bulb globe temperature (SWmax95).
