Skin locations inference and body fluid identification from skin microbial patterns for forensic applications

n this experiment, skin swabs from the palm, belly, groin, and foot of volunteers were collected, and the microbial diversity of these samples was analyzed by 16S rDNA high-throughput sequencing, revealing the microbial diversity and major microbial members in different parts of the human body. And skin samples from this study were compared with saliva and vaginal secretions samples from previous studies to explore source identification of body fluids/tissue. Therefore, it could provide data support for the application of forensic microorganism in skin site recognition and body fluid identification in sexual crimes.
