Whole-genome sequencing of wild and ancestral oil palm Dura. Elaeis guineensis isolate:Eg-DBG

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is an important global crop whose genetic improvement benefits from extensive genome sequencing. This study describes the whole-genome sequencing and annotation of two important genetic resources, the wild (Eg-DCM) and ancestral (Eg-DBG) Dura accessions. Comparative analysis with the advanced breeding Dura (Eg-D1) yields information about genome structure, gene content, and evolutionary shifts throughout domestication.
