Annotated Multiview Image Dataset of Prominent Indigenous Indian Cattle Breeds

The Indigenous Indian Cattle Breed Dataset (IICBD) is a curated collection of 9,598 RGB images representing nine indigenous cattle breeds: Bargur, Gir, Hallikar, Kankrej, Ongole, Pulikulam, Rathi, Sahiwal, and Tharparkar. The dataset was collected from real-world farm environments across multiple regions in India using DSLR and mobile cameras under natural lighting conditions.

Each image is captured from multiple viewpoints, including frontal, lateral, rear, and oblique angles, ensuring comprehensive representation of breed-specific morphological features such as horn shape, coat pattern, ear structure, and body conformation. All images are manually annotated and verified by domain experts, with consistent labeling and quality control procedures applied during curation.

The dataset reflects real-world variability, including differences in lighting, background, occlusion, and pose, making it suitable for robust computer vision and deep learning applications. It is intended to support research in cattle breed classification, livestock biometrics, precision agriculture, and AI-driven livestock monitoring systems.

The dataset is organized into breed-specific directories with labeled image files and is publicly accessible for academic and research use.
