We investigated the molecular mechanisms by which GABA regulates host defense in macrophages. To examine this, we performed global gene expression analysis of bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) after GABA treatment. Bone marrow-derived macrophages were isolated in 6~8 week old female C57BL6 mice and then divided into 6 groups 1) Solvent control-treated wild type BMDM 2) GABA-treated (6 h) wild type BMDM 3) GABA-treated (18 h) wild type BMDM 4) Solvent control-treated GABA BMDM 5) GABA-treated (6 h) wild type BMDM 6) GABA-treated (18 h) wild type BMDM
