Comprehensive Amendment Addressing Sustainable Fishery Act Definitions and Other Required Provisions of the Magnuson-Stevens Act in the Fishery Management Plans (FMPs) of the U.S. Caribbean Amendment 2 To The Fmp For Corals And Reef Associated Plants And Invertebrates Amendment 1 To The Fmp For Queen Conch Resources Amendment 3 To The Fmp For The Reef Fish Fishery Amendment 2 To The Fmp For The Spiny Lobster Fishery

The Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (Magnuson-Stevens Act), as amended by the Sustainable Fisheries Act, requires fishery management plans (FMPs) to address: (1) consistency with new definitions; (2) bycatch management measures and bycatch reporting requirements; (3) descriptions of each fishery sector and quantify trends in landings and data specified for the commercial, recreational, and charter fisheries; (4) fishery impact statements to insure they incorporate the likely effects of management measures on fishing communities; (5) overfishing provisions specifying objective and measurable criteria for identifying whether a fishery is overfished, measures to rebuild overfished stocks, and reductions in fishing mortality, as well as fair allocation among fishers; and (6) essential fish habitat (EFH) identification and conservation. All definitions for terms such as State, bycatch, etc. are as per the Magnuson-Stevens Act, as amended.
