Gene expression of macrophages isolated from mouse brains

Hematogenous macrophages infiltrate the brain after virus infection. We use a CSF1R inhibitior, PLX5622 to deplete microglia from the brain. However, macrophages also express the CSF1R and may be affected by PLX5622-treatment of mice. We used microarrays to determine the gene expression profiles of FAC-sorted macrophages from day 4 post-infection with MHV brains from control and PLX5622-treated mice. Mice treated with PLX5622 with given the drug in their food for 7 days prior to infection, continuing throughout infection. We used 3 mice in each group
