Brassinosteroid (BR) is a class of steroid hormones that regulates various processes of plant growth and development. Transcriptome profiling was performed to determine differentially expressed genes regulated by BR in rice roots. Root tissues of rice seedlings (Oryza sativa L. cv. Look Daeng Pattani) grown in Yoshida's nutrient solution supplemented with a BR biosynthesis inhibitor (4 uM propiconazole, PPZ) or mock for 5 days and then treated with exogenous brassinosteroid (10 uM 24-epicastasterone) for 24 h.
