资源简介:
Research on the history of pedagogy reveals the ideas of the Reformation as a precondition for the development of schools, the formation of the teaching profession and the creation of textbooks also in the territory of Latvia. The requirement set by Martin Luther (1483–1546) – to provide the basic teaching in the school in the mother tongue and religiously moral upbringing – is gradually being implemented for Latvian children as well. Over the centuries, the ideas of Luther and his companion Philipp Melanchthon (1497–1560) to provide all children with education, the civic upbringing of children, the need for knowledge not only for the soul but also for practical life has not lost its relevance. The main role in the implementation of the Reformation requirements in the field of education is played by the Baltic Germans, who founded schools for Latvian children, started teachers’ training, and left a significant cultural and historical heritage, to which this article is dedicated.
