Dataset and R Code for: Semaglutide and Risk of Completed Suicide in Adults with Obesity: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

This repository contains the dataset and R scripts used to perform the systematic review and meta-analysis evaluating the association between semaglutide and completed suicide among adults with obesity. The study synthesizes evidence from randomized and nonrandomized placebo-controlled trials identified through a comprehensive literature search conducted from database inception through December 30, 2025, without language restrictions. The primary outcome was completed suicide. Statistical analyses included both frequentist and Bayesian approaches. Frequentist pooled risk ratios (RRs) were estimated using Mantel–Haenszel fixed- and random-effects models, with Paule–Mandel estimation of between-study variance and Hartung–Knapp adjustment. A Bayesian hierarchical binomial–log model with study-level random effects was also implemented, allowing inclusion of zero-event trials without continuity corrections. This dataset enables full reproducibility of the analyses reported in the associated manuscript and supports transparency and reuse in future evidence synthesis studies.
