Least weasel draft genome assembly and mtDNA dataset

This Dataset contains the draft <i>de novo</i> genome assembly and the mtDNA sequences of least weasel (<i>Mustela nivalis</i>) generated in the following research paper:Miranda et al (2021). <i>Museomics dissects the genetic basis for adaptive seasonal colouration in the least wease</i><i>l</i><i>. </i><b>Molecular Biology and Evolution</b>, 38(10):4388–4402. DOI:10.1093/molbev/msab177--------------------------------------Information on files:<b>1)</b> In the context of the study of the genetic basis and evolution of seasonal coat colour variation in the least weasel, we generated a draft reference genome assembly for the species based on linked-read data generated with 10X Chromium technology. The original genome files used in the analyses are provided in the files:<b>1.1) </b><i>Mnivalis-assembly-pseudohap1_primary.fasta.gz</i> - contains the original version of the primary pseudohaplotype.<b>1.2) </b><i>Mnivalis-assembly-pseudohap2_alternative.fasta.gz</i> - contains the original version of the alternative pseudohaplotype.<b>2)</b> The file <i>mtDNA_alignment_M-nivalis.fas</i> contains the sequences of mitochondrial DNA of 68 specimens assembled <i>de novo</i> from whole-genome sequencing short-reads.
