Standardized Compound Heatwave and Drought Events Index (CHDEI) for South China, 1961–2022

This file contains the CHDE Index (CHDEI) representing standardized compound heatwave and drought events for the South China region (21°–33°N, 95°–125°E) during September from 1961 to 2022. The index was constructed by averaging the joint survival probability index (PI) across the study domain and inverting the values (CHDEI = −PI) so that higher values indicate more severe CHDEs. This dataset underlies the CHDE variability analysis presented in the manuscript.
