VPRS 1725 10 Pounds and Less Jurisdiction Book

This series comprises a single volume which lists details relating to civil actions commenced at Ararat Court. The spine of the of the volume reads 'L10 Jurisdiction Book". As all of the actions in the book are for amounts of ten pounds or less, this has been interpreted as "Less than 10 Pounds Jurisdiction Book". There was provision in this register for the following information to be recorded: names of Plaintiff and Defendant, Assessors, Cause of Action, fees, details of payments, decree, and signature. Many of these columns were either never or infrequently used and it is difficult to use this volume to determine the actual results of the actions.
