We identified an uncharacterized enhancer within HTLV-1 provirus. To prove its function, we determined the presence of histone modifications characteristic of enhancer regions. In addition, we identified transcriptional factors binding enhancer sequence and the presence of eRNA. We also showed the effect of viral and host gene expression changes in wt and enhancer-mutated HTLV-1 infected cells.
