A detection system (2) comprises a plurality of support posts (10)， ropes (12， 14) held by the support posts (10)， a winder (34) operable to wind the rope， a hoist and a Lowering device (36) which is connected to the rope and is movable in the air when the rope is wound by the winding device (34)， and a detection device (32) which is suspended from the lifting and lowering device (36). The detection device (32) is arranged to be moved by the winding device (34) in a region defined by the support posts (10) and to be lowered by the lifting and lowering device (36) in order to obtain information relating to an object capture.
