A Curated Bangladesh-Based Dataset of Handwritten and Printed Prescription Images

This dataset comprises 182 de-identified prescription images collected in Bangladesh, including both printed and handwritten prescriptions written in Bangla, English, and mixed Bangla-English formats. To ensure privacy protection, direct identifiers such as patient and physician names, phone numbers, physician degrees, signatures, chamber details, and registration numbers have been removed.The dataset was gathered from real-world prescription documents and organized as an image collection intended for research and educational use. It reflects common variation in prescription format, writing style, language use, and document appearance found in Bangladeshi clinical prescription records. Because the dataset contains both printed and handwritten content, it can be used to study heterogeneous medical documents under realistic conditions. The dataset is designed to support research in optical character recognition, handwriting recognition, prescription parsing, multilingual medical document understanding, and AI-driven analysis of healthcare documents, with particular relevance to prescription data from Bangladesh. It may also support research on noisy image preprocessing, mixed-script text extraction, and information extraction from prescription documents.
