extremewx.org: climatologies and trends of weather and climate extremes — data and code
收藏资源简介:
A frozen, citable copy of the analyses behind the interactive pages at extremewx.org: derived data products, the scripts that build them from public source datasets, the pages that compute climatologies, trends and regional aggregates from them, and test suites that check the numbers against independent recomputations. Global tropical cyclones (tc/trends): IBTrACS v04r01 synoptic best-track positions 1980–2025 on a 5° grid by year, intensity bin, lifecycle stage and basin — track density, storm counts, ACE, Vmax, minimum pressure and R34 size, with value histograms for medians and percentiles. U.S. hazards (scs/trends), by county, 2° box and station: hail, tornado and thunderstorm-wind days (NOAA/NCEI Storm Events), derechos, heavy-rain days (PRISM), extreme-heat and heat-index days (ERA5), snowfall days (GHCN-Daily, quality-controlled) and freezing-rain days (NOAA GHCNh). EarthVis climate atlas (climate): 1996–2025 monthly climatologies of 32 ERA5 fields at 1° and a worldwide tornado-day climatology from the Tornado Archive. Methods, caveats and rebuilding instructions are in the README.md of each product directory. Source datasets are not redistributed; see README.md for sources and required attributions. Derived data CC BY 4.0; code MIT.
