This dataset contains information on water points in Misungwi, Tanzania, mapped using community field observations and drone imagery. It includes the location, type (improved or unimproved), and corresponding diameter of each water source.
Access to safe water is crucial for health, yet 2.2 billion people lacked access to safely managed drinking water in 2022. This study aimed to map water points in Misungwi, Tanzania using two methods: community mapping with field observations and drone imagery. Field observations included GPS coordinates and interviews to assess water use, while drone imagery identified more unimproved water sources. Both methods were effective at a fine spatial scale, but drones were more time-intensive and costly
