Global WHEAT Dataset 2021 is an extension of the Global Wheat Dataset 2020. It is the first large-scale dataset for wheat head detection from field optical images. It includes a substantial number of cultivars from different continents. Wheat is a staple crop cultivated worldwide, hence there is global interest in wheat phenotyping. Therefore, it is crucial that models developed for wheat phenotyping (e.g., wheat head detection networks) can generalize across diverse growing environments around the world.
