资源简介:
Benthic boundary layer data is available from the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology, Russia. Special instrumentation was deployed in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans at depths of 730-6125m to collect long-term current and sediment data. Pop-up bottom stations were designed for data collection, including current and temperature measurements, sediment traps, a three component bottom seismometer, oxygen concentration sensor, CTD package, and other equipment. Data were originally collected for defense work to investigate the noise of the near-bottom environment. Data was collected between 1980-1992. The instrumentation system was deployed more than 50 times during this period. Data were collected in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii and California, in the Atlantic Ocean near Gibraltar, and in several regions of the Mediterranean Sea. The investigator is interested in making contacts with other scientists in benthic boundary layer modelling and in data processing using modern approaches.
