S. mirabilis P16B-1 serves as study organism to understand particularly metal resistance mechanisms but also interactions in soil microbial communities as well as with higher organisms (fungi and plants) on metal contaminated sites.Genome was sequenced with PacBio RSII and Illumina HiSeq by the DSMZ.
