The aim of this study is to characterise and compare the composition of the oesophageal microbiota along the progression sequence from Barrett’s metaplasia–dysplasia–adenocarcinoma using several different oesophageal sampling techniques (endoscopic biopsies, endoscopic brushings, and Cytosponge).
