SAR Morocco Flood Dataset: A georeferenced Sentinel-1 SAR dataset for water and flood segmentation in five Moroccan hydrological zones (2024-2026)
收藏资源简介:
The SAR Morocco Flood Dataset provides 1,497 co-registered Sentinel-1 SAR patches (256 x 256 pixels, dual-polarization VV+VH) and corresponding binary water masks distributed across five hydrological zones in northern-central Morocco. The dataset covers recent hydrological events documented between September 2024 and April 2026, including the Ksar El Kebir flood (January-February 2026), the Gharb plain flood (February 2026), reservoir states at contrasting seasons (Al Wahda, summer 2024 and winter 2025), the SMBA post-drought filling (March 2026), and the Bin El Ouidane reservoir at high winter filling (winter 2026). Water masks were generated semi-automatically using the Hierarchical Split-Based Approach (HSBA) combined with Otsu thresholding and morphological post-processing, followed by two-pass visual quality control. All data are provided as georeferenced GeoTIFF files with per-patch CSV metadata and zone-level Markdown documentation. Dataset composition:- Zone 1 (Ksar El Kebir, Loukkos basin): 102 patches- Zone 2 (Al Wahda reservoir, Sebou basin): 292 patches- Zone 3 (SMBA reservoir, Bouregreg basin): 176 patches- Zone 4 (Gharb plain, Sebou basin): 887 patches- Zone 5 (Bin El Ouidane reservoir, Oum Er-Rbia basin): 40 patches The dataset supports training and evaluation of deep learning models for SAR-based flood mapping in Mediterranean and North African contexts, addressing the current under-representation of this region in publicly available flood datasets such as Sen1Floods11 and S1S2-Water.
