Single-nucleus RNA sequencing of the hippocampal formation from a genetically diverse Alzheimer's disease mouse model (AD-BXDs)

Cognitive resilience describes a subset of the elderly population that present no cognitive decline despite harboring Alzheimer’s disease (AD) neuropathologies. We used single nucleus RNA-sequencing to profile the hippocampal formation of cognitively resilient and susceptible AD-BXD strains. Hippocampal formation was isolated from cognitively resilient and cognitively susceptible AD-BXD strains (5XFAD mutation carriers) and their nontransgenic counterparts at 6- and 14-months of age. Samples were flash-frozen and were used for snRNA-sequencing.
