For each step identified in the first row of table (Fig 3), the second row shows the Kruskal–Wallis test result, and the third row uses an * symbol to indicate any statistically significant difference in the results of the pairwise Wilcoxon signed rank tests between the MC and the other processing chains that differ only in the use of another option in that step.
