A new gene set was predicted in the frame of the present study, using RNA-seq data from multiple tissues, along with comparative analysis against the corresponding gene sets from 4 additional lizard species belonging to the Podarcis genus, and an orthology analysis was conducted for finding orthologues and single copy genes in P. cretensis. In addition, this extensive set of RNA-seq samples resulted in a gene expression atlas and it is deposited in a public repository in order to aid the respective research community .
